Many wedding cakes feature design and colours from the Bride’s bouquet, fabric detail from her dress or colours from the wedding theme. It is popular to recreate flowers from the bouquet using sugar paste, which can be stored as a keepsake after the wedding. These delicate hand-made flowers are made on the premises to order and can suit any theme or colour. Fresh flowers are another beautiful choice of decoration and can be arranged with your florist.
Other forms of design include sugar paste bows and ribbons, delicate royal icing piping, hand painted motifs, sugar paste designs and many other forms of decoration. If you have an idea or a picture of a cake you like, I can recreate it or create a similar design to suit your personal colours and theme. We can also start with a blank canvas as this is a bespoke service and I am happy to help you come to a design you love.
The cutting of the cake is a special and romantic part of the wedding reception, when the newly -weds share their first task together as a married couple. It is a part of the day that will always be remembered as that special moment is captured in a photograph. For this reason, the cake must be everything you want it to be in design. It must also be delicious!
